Session 1 Introduction
*This is a preview of Pulmonary Academy session 1 and doesn't not have full functionality enabled. This aims to give you a preview of course structure and select course material.
Learning objectives of this session will include:
- Recognize the primary (gas exchange) and secondary functions of the lung.
- Identify the basic anatomic lung units.
- Distinguish the five causes of hypoxemia.
- Recognize single and double acid-base disorders.
Each session consists of a pre-test to gauge your current understanding, interactive videos and then a final post test. Once you have passed the post-test we will issue you your CME certificate!
While you can take the sessions in any order that you wish, we recommend doing them in order.
Please note that color or black and white PDF handouts are available at the bottom of each session's home page. Also, note that a master slide deck for the entire 10-session course is available on each course's Session 1 home page.
